The Next Version

Version 2.32 was released in January 2009.

There are few items in progress that won't make it into 2.32, and instead of holding it up, we will put them in 2.33, which should be out around ALA time, with a 2.33 beta available in the spring.

These items are:

• Comprehensive support for punctuation problems in uniform titles
• A MARC-8 to UTF-8 conversion utility
• DC/MARC and MARC/DC conversion utilities
• Major performance improvements to the XML/MARC and MARC/XML utilities
• Support for exporting MARC Review and MARC Global tasks to XML files that can easily be shared with others (the MARC Review version of this export is now available in 232 as 'MARC Review cataloging checks')
